How are accented characters handled?
The tool uses Unicode NFD normalization to decompose accented characters (like é → e + combining accent), then strips the combining marks. This produces clean ASCII slugs from international text.
What characters are removed?
Everything except letters, numbers, and the chosen separator is removed. Multiple consecutive separators are collapsed into one, and leading/trailing separators are trimmed.
